Chi Kitchen London is located on the ground floor of Debenhams’ flagship Oxford Street store. Chi Kitchen on Oxford Street can accommodate up to 68 guests, and also features a welcoming champagne bar.Chi Kitchen London offers a relaxed and welcoming feel. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the open plan nature of the restaurant invites guests to witness the chefs at work, as they freshly prepare sushi, sashimi and charcoal grilled delights.

The interior design of the restaurant is inspired by the five elements, namely fire, water, wood, earth and metal. The combination of marble, timber and leather in the restaurant, helps to create an elegant and welcoming setting, inviting customers to enjoy a fantastic experience, both in terms of the environment, and the exotic food on offer.

The word Chi means energy in Chinese. Our aim, therefore, is to build a brand that not only offers great food, but also provides good energy to existing Debenhams customers, and the new customers that Chi Kitchen will attract. We chose to use the Chinese symbol for fire to represent the brand, which again has a strong meaning behind it. By linking the word Chi, and the fire symbol together, Chi Kitchen plays on the way fire can be converted into energy. Fire also relates directly to the restaurant interior, as our robata grill is a central feature at all of our sites. We believe that the name Chi Kitchen will resonate with Debenhams customers, and help to give them a clear understanding of the strong pan-Asian food offering.

The menu is created by Group Consultant Chef Ping Coombes. Since being crowned the winner of MasterChef in 2014, Ping has embraced the chance to spread her knowledge, by promoting Asian food around the UK and abroad.
