Executive Chef Ping Coombes will host a Celebration Lunch to honour the Year of the Dog on Sunday 18th February, from 12pm to 2.30pm. Guests can enjoy a delicious, three course set menu priced at £35.00 for two, featuring authentic Chinese dishes specially created by Ping. Diners can start with Lo Sang with Salmon – a traditional Chinese sesame salad with fresh salmon and served with a plum sauce. It’s often known as ‘the Prosperity Toss’, which is a ceremony in Chinese New Year festivities in China, Singapore and Malaysia said to bring prosperity, wealth and good luck for the New Year.
Guests can then enjoy three main dishes, served sharing style. This includes; Steamed Monkfish with a chilli and garlic sauce, a vegetarian dish of Stir-fried broccoli with shittake mushrooms and tofu and Grilled tiger prawns topped with crispy ginger and black pepper sauce. For dessert, diners will be treated to a traditional Yuzu cheesecake topped with fresh passion fruit and served with mandarin sorbet. A Mandarin Retriever cocktail will also be served alongside the three courses.
In line with Chinese New Year traditions, Ping will also be handing out Ounpow at the party– a lucky red envelope traditionally given at holidays to symbolize good luck and toward off evil spirits.
